Cardiac Catheterization (Research)
Our Mission
Continued Involvement in cutting edge cardiovascular research allowing us to provide the most up to date treatment options for maximized beneficial outcomes in patients needing percutaneous coronary intervention.
Dedicated Support
Continuing NYU Langone Medical Center's long tradition of academic pursuits through research, the NYU Cardiac Cath Lab is a leader in ongoing clinical research trials. Our committed Research Office is administered by a dedicated full time nurse coordinator and supported by the NYUMC Investigational Pharmacy, the Institutional Board of Research Associates, and the Office of Clinical Trials Development. All research in the Cath Lab is conducted according to the Good Clinical Practice guidelines set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and continually reviewed for adherence to the highest ethical and scientific standards.
Research for Better Patient Outcomes
NYU Langone Medical Center's Cardiac Interventionalist team has a long history of research experience including participation in National Institute of Health trials. As participants in research on thrombolytic therapies, they helped revolutionize the treatment of patients having myocardial infractions. The commitment to better outcomes for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention continues everyday; new research involving Glycoprotein IIB/IIIA Inhibitors, medications for the prevention of in-stent restenosis, and several innovative stenting products are currently underway in our Cardiac Cath Lab.
